Download Sites, Software Sites, Open Directories
TIP
General DDL sites use multiple sources, so it's best to avoid them for software and games. If needed, use redirect bypassers to skip link shorteners.
TIP
These aggregate from multiple sources, so it's best to avoid them for software / games.
TIP
Always scan downloaded software with VirusTotal before installation or run it in a sandboxed environment like Triage to prevent system compromise. Note that any apps with fake names are generally not worth using. Keep in mind some file hosts have fake popups, real downloads happen within the download pages themselves, not redirected pages, or popup tabs.
